Sacred Women’s Circle
The theme for this year’s Sacred Women’s Circle was Building A More Civil Society By Increasing Women of Color In Global Leadership. The Circle was held online this past March 15-26, 2021 through the Commission on The Status of Women and is now archived on the UN-NGO portal. To view the entire program click HERE.
‘An Affirmation of Feminist Principles’ recognizes that:
“To achieve justice, equality, and liberation, we must combat and dismantle the patriarchal systems of power which continue to oppress and exclude many of us…We affirm that the realization of the human rights of any one group of persons does not come at the cost of the rights of any others…We believe strongly that gender equality will not be achieved without the realization of the human rights of all trans, intersex, and nonbinary people” CSW/NGO 2021

About the Program
TNS alumni, faculty and students designed the service for those attending the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. The Circle provides women from various faiths and cultures a safe and nurturing space in which to share, bond and heal. The Circle is a place where everyone is invited to share their thoughts based on their own traditions.
The New Seminary, a member of the United Nation’s family, was honored to once again host the Sacred Women’s Circle, which brings women from the many cultures and backgrounds of the world together. This circle has become a TNS tradition, and it is our intention to sponsor one each year.
